MCAT Physical Sciences

The MCAT Physical Sciences section is the first section on the test. This section contains a number of 200- to 300-word passages, formatted like journal or textbook articles, experimental research, data analysis, or scientific-style editorials. The passages are followed by a series of questions related to the passage as well as a number of stand-alone questions.

The MCAT Physical Sciences section is designed to test your ability to understand scientific concepts in new situations.

The MCAT Physical Sciences section lasts 70 minutes and includes 52 questions. You will need a good understanding of physics and general chemistry.

What About the Math?

Many people think that there are a lot of advanced math concepts tested on the MCAT. This isn't true. All you'll need is a basic understanding of general math skills such as algebra and trigonometry.
