MCAT: Medical College Admission Test

The MCAT is a determining factor in admissions to all medical schools.  It is a very demanding exam that tests a very broad range of curriculum that is focused around your understanding of the sciences, logic and reasoning, and your verbal and writing communication skills through essay questions through a set of defined sections.   The MCAT Syllabus is available here, additional MCAT information avialable here.

It is profoundly important that you prepare yourself for the exam and revisit topics in science that you may not have studied for several years.  Although there is no limit on the number of times you can take the test, ensuring that you are thoroughly prepared will give you the ability to score to your highest potential the first time.

There are several practice tests available online that will help you with the format and types of questions that you may encounter.   When a couple of practice tests do not provide the level of training you deem necessary, The Princeton Review has a comprehensive set of resources geared to help you succeed and score higher on the MCAT.    We have several MCAT training courses both in the classroom and online.  We have MCAT Private Tutors, books, and many more resources available online.

The MCAT is a five hour and 20 minute test appointment that will consist of 52 Physical Sciences, 40 questions for Verbal reasoning, 2 writing sample questions, 52 Biological Sciences, and a final survey.   There are 10 minute breaks between sections which helps break up the exam and give a little resting or down time between each major section.

The MCAT will be administered at select locations throughout the year.  Please review the official MCAT schedule to confirm actual dates and times.   Registration opens 120 days before the official test date.   To start on your way to a higher MCAT Score, view our selection on MCAT preparation tools by selecting MCAT from the dropdown menu and inserting your zip code above to see a list of available courses online and in your local area.
